End-to-End Security Coverage
The material may be regulated. The security failures around it are often painfully ordinary.
Unauthorized access, predictable routes, weak handoffs, unsecured stops, contractor confusion, trespass, theft, sabotage, and poor documentation can expose hazardous material before, during, or after movement.
Storage Tank and Terminal Security
Protect tank farms, fenced compounds, terminals, utility sites, warehouses, rail yards, waste facilities, and other fixed locations through visible presence, perimeter control, patrol, and documented access.
Transfer and Loading Areas
Control approved entry around loading, unloading, transfer, staging, inspection, and temporary holding areas without performing the regulated material-handling function.
Armed Escort Vehicles
Provide a separate armed protective element alongside the carrier movement, with planned communications, check-ins, stops, escalation, and destination handoff.

Incident and Recovery Perimeters

Personnel assigned to this capability have completed DOT Hazmat: Security Awareness. The course’s stated objectives address the federal security-awareness requirement in 49 CFR 172.704(a)(4), including recognizing and responding to possible security threats.

Armed Transportation Escort
A separate security vehicle protects the movement without pretending to be the carrier.
For an accepted assignment, Privateer can place licensed armed security personnel in an escort vehicle traveling separately from the carrier vehicle. The carrier, shipper, and applicable security plan retain control of the material and regulated transportation functions.

What training supports the hazmat security team?
Personnel assigned to this capability have completed DOT Hazmat: Security Awareness training. Training documentation is available during client qualification, and staffing for a specific mission is confirmed during review.
Can Privateer transport the material?
Not under this security-awareness credential. Privateer’s offer is fixed-site security and a separately operated escort vehicle. A properly authorized carrier controls and transports the hazardous material.
Can the escort be armed?
Yes, for a qualifying lawful assignment staffed by appropriately credentialed armed security personnel. The route, communications, authority, and escalation plan are established before acceptance.
What locations can be protected?
Storage tanks, terminals, industrial facilities, rail yards, warehouses, waste sites, transfer points, staging areas, destinations, damaged sites, and recovery perimeters can be evaluated throughout Arizona.
Can you respond urgently?
Qualifying under-24-hour requests are reviewed through Emergency Operations. Accepted emergency mobilizations carry a $1,250–$2,500 service fee; ongoing labor, travel, equipment, and mission costs are separate.
